Shomper Exits

CITADEL Talk WLS-A/CHICAGO PD BOB SHOMPER has exited the station, reports VOCALO.ORG's ROBERT FEDER. SHOMPER, who joined WLS from crosstown TRIBUNE Talk WGN-A and previously worked for several years at CITADEL sister Talk WBAP-A/DALLAS in DECEMBER 2008, exited one weekend after VP/DOS MICHAEL DAMSKY replaced MIKE FOWLER as Pres./GM of the station.

DAMSKY said, "As we evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of WLS-AM, we realized that we needed a program director with a different vision to capitalize on all of the opportunities that this compelling news environment and exciting political season present our station. We will immediately begin looking for the person with that vision."
