NRC BROADCASTING, INC. is selling two DENVER market radio stations -- Adult Hits simulcast KJAC (KACK FM)/TIMNATH, CO and KCUV/GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO -- plus FM translator K245AD/ARVADA and two boosters in BOULDER to MORELAND PROPERTIES, LLC for $5 million and a time brokerage agreement before closing.
In other deals filed with the FCC, CRISWELL COLLEGE is transferring its radio licenses to a new entity, FIRST DALLAS MEDIA, as part of its separation from FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF TEXAS. The school is becoming an independent institution and is creating the new company to operate the stations and continue the church's radio ministry.
The new entity will make an annual contribution to the college, starting with $500,000.04 paid in 12 monthly installments, adjusted after three years according to the Consumer Price Index (with the initial $500,000.04 amount as the minimum). The stations, all noncommercial, include Religion KCBI/DALLAS, Religion KSYE/FREDERICK, OK and Religion KCRN-A-F/SAN ANGELO, TX.
JAMES KEITH SHARP is transferring the license of Gospel daytimer WDJL-A (LOVE 1000)/HUNTSVILLE, AL to GOSPEL EXPLOSION MINISTRIES, LLC.
In FM translator deals, RADIO ASSIST MINISTRY, INC. is selling K222BL/LARAMIE, WY to APPALOOSA BROADCASTING COMPANY, INC. for $28,000; and JOHN DADY is selling K272AI/GLENWOOD SPRINGS, CO to COLORADO RADIO MARKETING, LLC for $70,000.
In silent STA filings, KM RADIO OF LOVELADY LLC has requested an extension of FCC approval to keep KHMR/LOVELADY, TX silent pending sale of the company's 700 mHz licenses to "free up cash flow." Once the sale is closed on MARCH 9th, the company plans to resume broadcasting shortly thereafter.
RANDY MICHAELS' RADIOACTIVE, LLC has taken WZXP/AU SABLE, NY silent, citing "inadequate long-term staffing and programming resources" and telling the FCC it "continues to work towards refining and implementing a business plan to ensure the financial viability of the station and resumption of operations."
BIRACH BROADCASTING has requested an extension of the STA to keep WVBA-A/BAYSIE, VA silent while it seeks a new transmitter site; the station has until MARCH 27th to put the station back on the air.
And DIGITAL RADIO BROADCASTING, INC. has taken FM translator W219DQ/DILLYVILLE, NY silent while it relocates to a new site, and has also taken W235BI/MIDDLETOWN, NY dark because of difficulty receiving incoming signals and will resume broadcasting once filters are installed to eliminate the interference.
