XM SATELLITE RADIO's OPIE AND ANTHONY responded to rumors posted by NEW YORK RADIO MESSAGE BOARD operator ALLAN SNIFFEN that the pair might be headed back to terrestrial radio by declining comment.
GREGG "OPIE" HUGHES told listeners FRIDAY to stop calling about the posting, which said that the show might replace DAVID LEE ROTH in selected markets on CBS' "FREE FM" stations while the XM show would continue as well, but that he would have more on MONDAY and that someone who "stopped us last time like us now."
Recently, O&A mentioned that their agent BOB EATMAN had been in town to talk about a new opportunity and hinted that it might have something to do with CBS RADIO; the XM show briefly aired in DECEMBER 2004 on a one-day-delay, edited basis on WAQX/SYRACUSE after HOWARD STERN was dropped by CITADEL.
