Something's up in BALTIMORE Talk radio, where PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS has announced that RUSH LIMBAUGH will be moving from longtime HEARST-ARGYLE-owned home WBAL-A on JUNE 1 to a new station to be announced "in the near future." If CLEAR CHANNEL plans a new talker in the market to put LIMBAUGH on, as it did in PITTSBURGH and MINNEAPOLIS, it owns Country powerhouse WPOC, Jazz WSMJ, and Gospel WCAO-A, all of which land in the top 10 in ARBITRON's 12+ ratings; other local talk options include WCBM-A and INFINITY's WHFS (FREE FM).
Meanwhile, WBAL will extend CHIP FRANKLIN and RON SMITH's shows to fill LIMBAUGH's Noon-3p slot.
