CORUS ENTERTAINMENT will be moving its WINNIPEG radio cluster to a new development adjacent to and on the site of the old WINNIPEG ARENA, reports the WINNIPEG FREE PRESS.
Talk CJOB-A, Active Rock CJKR (POWER 97), and Smooth Jazz CJGV (GROOVE FM 99.1) will leave their longtime home at 98 Portage Avenue to the new retail/office complex north of POLO PARK. CORUS will take the second floor of the former CTV/WTN building, which is being incorporated into the new development that will ultimately include new buildings on the site of the old WINNIPEG JETS (now the PHOENIX COYOTES).
A separate development by the ASPER family of CANWEST GLOBAL fame plans to construct an upscale mall on the site of CANADINNS STADIUM, home of the CFL WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS, who would move to a new stadium at the UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA.
