LINCOLN FINANCIAL Country KSON/SAN DIEGO morning show co-host BILL TANNER will exit the station effective FRIDAY (3/19). TANNER is departing from the station to pursue a career in acting.
KSON PD JOHN MARKS has announced that midday host BROOKS O’BRIAN will be joining morning show personality CLIFF DUMAS for the “CLIFF AND BROOKS” morning show beginning on MONDAY (3/22). O’BRIAN is also APD/MD for KSON and has been with the station for three years.
MARKS said: "As RICK said to LOUIS in ‘CASABLANCA’, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. CLIFF's strength and time in SAN DIEGO and BROOKS' morning expertise - while already a known personality here - makes this a perfect pairing for KSON."
O’BRIAN said: "This is an exciting step in my career. I'm getting back to mornings in a city I love with a partner that I already know and respect. CLIFF has been top rated for the past six years and I look forward to contributing to our continued success."
Morning show personality TORI PECK will continue as KSON Morning Show Producer as well as news and traffic reporter.
The station has also expanded the hours of air shifts. The morning show will run until 10a (PT). NICK UPTON will handle the midday shift from 10a-2p (PT) and KIMO JENSEN will handle the 2p-7p (PT) shift.
