JESSICA SIMPSON, who parted ways with SONY NASHVILLE in APRIL 2009, said being onstage and feeling scrutinized while on tour with LYRIC STREET group RASCAL FLATTS in 2009 brought up insecurity about her self-image. JESSICA told USA WEEKLY that the feeling led her to produce a new show for VH1 called 'The Price of Beauty.”
JESSICA said: "I was on tour [with RASCAL FLATTS], and I had to get up on stage every night and just know that people were looking to see whether I was fat or not. You walk by ten magazine covers, and it's you and these stupid jeans.
In her new show, JESSICA travels around the world to show the extreme lengths women will go to in all different countries to make themselves feel beautiful and how their culture defines that.
“The Price of Beauty” airs MONDAYS at 10p (ET) on VH1.
