Longtime CBS RADIO Talk WCCO-A/MINNEAPOLIS evening sports talk host DARK STAR has exited the station after taking a buyout of his contract. 

STAR (aka GEORGE CHAPPLE) had been with the station for 25 years until TUESDAY's departure; he started by filing reports from CANTERBURY DOWNS and had done some hosting at crosstown HUBBARD Talk KSTP-A before joining WCCO, where he most recently hosted the 9p-1a CT slot.

Are other WCCO-ers being asked to take buyouts as well?  Rumors in the market have the station looking to reduce staff size through buyouts; stay tuned....
