MINNESOTA Gov. TIM PAWLENTY can continue to do his weekly "GOOD MORNING MINNESOTA" statewide radio show after the state's CAMPAIGN FINANCE BOARD ruled that the show is not an illegal campaign contribution. The show airs on CBS Talk WCCO-A/MINNEAPOLIS and a chain of 10 other stations across the state under a contract between the state and the stations, which the board ruled makes it legal and not a direct contribution to PAWLENTY's campaign.
PAWLENTY's political opponents in the DEMOCRATIC-FARMER-LABOR PARTY had complained that the show is a campaign contribution because he is effectively campaigning for re-election; PAWLENTY, a Republican, has not yet formally declared his re-election candidacy.
