CBS Talk KMOX-A/ST. LOUIS afternoon host PAUL HARRIS and night co-host JON GRAYSON get results for a soldier who wanted a MISSOURI flag to remind him of home, after his request was rejected by the Governor's office.
GRAYSON, broadcasting from IRAQ, spoke to ARMY Specialist ROGER STUDDARD, who related that he had sent a note to a staffer for Gov. MATT BLUNT asking for a flag from home, only to receive a rejection on official letterhead from Constituent Services Liaison JOSEPH TAYLOR.
TAYLOR cited budget concerns and instructed the soldier to go buy one from a retailer. GRAYSON told the story to HARRIS, who opened the phone lines and within one minute got a caller offering to buy and send STUDDARD a flag, followed quickly by a call from MARY KAY of State Rep. NEAL ST. ONGE's (R-ST. LOUIS COUNTY) office, who said she would get STUDDARD a flag that had flown over the state house.
