Could the DICKEY family be looking at buying the ATLANTA BRAVES? The ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, in THURSDAY's editions, is reporting that CUMULUS Chairman, President, and CEO LEW DICKEY and his family are one of two new MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL-approved prospective buyers of the team, which is being shopped by TIME WARNER.
Among other prospective buyers are a group headed by TRAMMELL CROW executive RON TERWILLIGER (the other new party approved by MLB to talk to TIME WARNER), LIBERTY MEDIA, and ATLANTA FALCONS owner ARTHUR BLANK, who recently suspended talks with TIME WARNER but may come back into the bidding.
It's going to be an interesting spring...
"It's going to be an interesting spring," LEW's brother DAVID DICKEY told the paper. "Whether we're standing or not when the dust settles, it's going to be interesting."
