WAWZ To Include All Channels In Compassion Fundraiser

PILLAR OF FIRE Christian AC WAWZ (STAR 99.1)/NEW YORK CITY and COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL are gearing up for their one-day child sponsorship effort on MONDAY, APRIL 12th. The station is making an unprecedented move by including all three HD channels of STAR 99.1 and the respective online audio streams at star991fm.com, 991hd2.com and 991hd3.com.

For the first time, the programs on the HD channels will be preempted for the live broadcast from WAWZ. The station will also be utilizing websites, e-blasts, blogs, TWITTER and FACEBOOK messages to update followers on number of children sponsored.

“It is a cause that is worth putting all of our HD channels, social media and streaming channels towards to impact the lives of these children. We have a calling to help. STAR 99.1 listeners are responding," said Station Manager SCOTT TAYLOR.

WAWZ and COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL held a one-day fundraiser on FEBRUARY 1st. Listeners donated more than $118,000 for immediate relief work in HAITI.
