SCOTT MULLINS has been named the PD of TOWSON UNIVERSITY Triple A WTMD/BALTIMORE. He replaces BILLY ZERO, who exited the station last year. He will be in place beginning in early MAY.
MULLINS has been MD at MILWAUKEE PUBLIC SCHOOLS Triple A-Young Urban hybrid WYMS/MILWUKEE since its inception. He has a long history in the public radio sphere, including more than a decade at LPM Triple A WFPK/LOUISVILLE.
Along with leading WTMD’s programming staff, MULLINS will be responsible for the station’s overall sound. He also will extend the station’s presence through its HD Radio channels and digital activities.
WTMD GM STEVE YASKO said, "SCOTT is a huge talent in public radio. He will use his uncanny intuitive sense of where music is going and extensive experience with public radio to create exciting and worthwhile programming for our listeners."
MULLINS said of the new job, "I look forward to exploring BALTIMORE's deep, vibrant music scene and expanding WTMD's role as the voice and focal point for the city's music, art and creative communities. STEVE is a creative thinker. I’m excited about the chance to work with him and the staff of one of the premiere Triple A music stations in the country."
This move leaves WYMS’ new PD MARK KEEFE with a slot to fill. He is immediately seeking a Music Director and afternoon host. If you or someone you know might be interested, send resume and aircheck to KEEFE’s attention at mark@radiomilwaukee.org.
KEEFE said, "SCOTT MULLINS has been a great asset to 88 NINE RADIOMILWAUKEE during his tenure here. He helped sign the station on and was even here setting it up before it was even launched. We’ll miss him but we’re also very excited for him and WTMD."
