A new Alternative Internet station, PACIFIC FM, has launched using the slogan "ALTERNATIVE INDIE ROCK" with a library of songs that includes '70s New Wave, '80s Modern Rock, '90s Britpop, garage, electronic, powerpop and of course indie bands.
Former longtime CBS RADIO Alternative KITS (LIVE 105)/SAN FRANCISCO Ops. Director SPUD is PD/MD.
"We wanted a single station that plays all the cool indie songs you don’t hear in regular rotation anywhere else ... and a station that WE could listen to all day long without ever having the desire to change the dial ... er, URL," commented SPUD.
GM FABRICE added, "This is long overdue so in 2010, we will make up for lost time and play the best alternative indie songs from the last thirty years you’ve ever dreamed of on one station."
FABRICE and SPUD worked together at LIVE 105 in the '90s. In addition to PACIFIC FM, FABRICE is a media and marketing consultant in his own firm 1000 MONDES IN BRETAGNE, FRANCE. SPUD also plays in a surf band called DRIFTING SAND.
"PACIFIC FM has a very experienced, talented and devoted team," said FABRICE. "The technology is finally here for everyone so this is the perfect time to launch a really cool alternative indie rock station, something the market has been lacking for too long."
The station is based out of BRETAGNE, FRANCE and the Programming Office is in SAN MATEO, CA. The mailing address is: PACIFIC FM, PO Box 172, BURLINGAME, CA 94011. SPUD can be reached at spud@pacific.fm.
