Condolences to family and friends of former ELMIRA-CORNING, NY radio station owner and host BOB EOLIN, who died MONDAY in CORNING after a battle with brain cancer at 67, according to the ELMIRA STAR-GAZETTE.
EOLIN was President of RADIO WORKS, which owned six stations in the ELMIRA-CORNING market, WCBA-A-F, WENY-A-F, WGMM, and WCLI-A until selling the stations in DECEMBER 2003. In addition, EOLIN and his RADIO WORKS partner JACK SHANE hosted a local morning show on WCBA and WENY-F until SHANE's death in 2002, then EOLIN and his wife DEE continued the show.
Before buying the radio stations, EOLIN spent his career in television, starting with the old TRIANGLE BROADCASTING in its management training program and then at its CBS affiliate WNBF-TV/BINGHAMTON (later WBNG-TV) in 1969 through 1980. He moved to sister CBS affiliate WLYH-TV/LEBANON, PA as VP/GM. Most recently, EOLIN operated the BLACK BEAR STUDIOS television production company.
