NASSAU BROADCASTING PARTNERS has ditched the "Wave" Oldies format from recently-acquired CAPE COD duo WTWV/MASHPEE, MA and WDVT/HARWICH PORT, MA, flipping the stations to an Adult Hits format dubbed 101.1 AND 93.5 FRANK-FM... "We Play It All."
GM JAKE DEMMIN told the CAPE COD TIMES that the new format, musically, is "incredibly broad," but that it will not include Rap or Country. Touting "Cape Cod's Largest Music Library," and launching with 10,000 songs in a row commercial-free, the station will feature artists such as AEROSMITH, BILLY JOEL, MADONNA, PRINCE, SHERYL CROW and R.E.M.
“Like most of the other markets we serve, CAPE COD is a retail-rich destination with upscale demographics and high growth rates,” said LOU MERCATANTI, NASSAU’s Chairman and President. “In other words, it’s a tremendous place for our staff to produce great local radio. We are very excited today to be launching this new format in such a dynamic market."
Four other NASSAU stations are currently programming FRANK-FM formats. The company acquired WTWV and WDVT, along with Rock WPXC (PIXY 103)/HYANNIS, MA from QANTUM last Summer.
