A TV special about JOURNAL Talk WTMJ-A/MILWAUKEE's campaign to raise money to help 296 WISCONSIN WORLD WAR II veterans travel to WASHINGTON, DC to be honored at a ceremony on MAY 2nd will air on sister NBC affiliate WTMJ-TV (TODAY'S TMJ4) at 6p MONDAY (5/31), in place of the station's local news. "FLIGHT OF HONOR: THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY OF 296 WISCONSIN WORLD WAR II VETERANS" will be hosted by the radio station's CHARLIE SYKES and WTMJ-TV's MIKE JACOBS and CAROLE MEEKINS.
WTMJ raised over $250,000 in partnership with the STARS AND STRIPES HONOR FLIGHT organization, KAEREK HOMES, and FIELDS JAGUAR, LAND ROVER, VOLVO WAUKESHA and MADISON, with the goal met two weeks early. The special was originally scheduled to air at 9p on MEMORIAL DAY but is being moved to the earlier time so that the TV station can carry NBC's live coverage of the STANLEY CUP playoff game between the CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS and PHILADELPHIA FLYERS.
