Australian Newsman, Host Michael Schildberger Dies

Condolences to family and friends of former ABC RADIO AUSTRALIA 3LO/MELBOURNE morning host and longtime television newsman MICHAEL SCHILDBERGER, who died early WEDNESDAY (6/2) of prostate cancer in PRAHRAN, AUSTRALIA at 72.
SCHILDBERGER started his broadcasting career at GTV-9/MELBOURNE in 1958, ultimately becoming Director of News at GTV-9 and sister radio station 3AK, then network bureau chief in CANBERRA and host of "A CURRENT AFFAIR" on the network in the 1970's. He moved to the TEN NETWORK's ATV-10/MELBOURNE in 1978 as Director of News before moving to radio at 3FOX-FM/MELBOURNE and then to 3LO's morning show. He later operated his own company, BUSINESS ESSENTIALS.
