Citadel To Move WNOX-F/Knoxville To WOKI Slot

As widely speculated, CITADEL's Talk WNOX-F (NEWSTALK 100)/KNOXVILLE will move its Talk format to the 98.7 FM frequency of sister Oldies WOKI as CITADEL's LMA of the 100.3 FM frequency from licensee OAK RIDGE FM (PIRKLE) comes to an end. OAK RIDGE had filed, and then withdrew, an objection to the CITADEL reorganization plan during CITADEL's Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.  

The move will take place AUGUST 2nd, with a simulcast launching on JULY 9th to help the transition to exclusively broadcasting on 98.7.

"The shift to the new address enables CITADEL/KNOXVILLE to own its own signal rather than continue leasing it from another owner", said OM MIKE HAMMOND.  "This is like deciding to buy your own home after renting for years.  Now everything we do and put into the station will be investments we are making in the present and future of WNOX.  We're delighted to own our own signal."
