The latest on the midday situation at TRIBUNE Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO is that 1-3p host STEVE COCHRAN has posted on his FACEBOOK page the message, " Thanks to everybody for all the support. As of now I don't believe I will be on wgn beyond 6/30. I will be here with updates and more as things shake out."
MIKE MCCONNELL, incoming from CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WLW-A/CINCINNATI, has said that he will be doing a shift starting at 9a (CT) when he joins WGN in AUGUST. JOHN WILLIAMS hosts 9a-1p at the moment, and he also hosts 1-3p CT separately for CBS RADIO Talk WCCO-A/MINNEAPOLIS.
Cunningham Staying Put
Late MONDAY, MCCONNELL's WLW colleague BILL CUNNINGHAM, who is taping television pilots for TRIBUNE in CHICAGO, told the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER's JOHN KIESEWETTER that he will remain at WLW under a new contract being negotiated. "I had to resolve in my mind where I wanted to be, and I've decided I want to stay in CINCINNATI," CUNNINGHAM told KIESEWETTER. "In my mind, I'm going to stay in CINCINNATI. The lawyers are working on the ifs, ands and buts. I believe I'll be back on the air in the next day or two." CUNNINGHAM had been rumored to be joining MCCONNELL at WGN.
