CBC Shutters Montreal Digital Radio Stations

The CBC has informed the CRTC that it is shutting down its digital radio transmitters in MONTREAL.  CBC RADIO ONE affiliate CBME, RADIO 2 affiliate CBM, PREMIERE CHAINE affiliate CBF, and ESPACE MUSIQUE affiliate CBFX are turning in their digital licenses to the agency, which has formally revoked the authorizations.  The digital stations operated using the Eureka 147 standard (incompatible with U.S. HD RADIO receivers) on the L-band spectrum

In other filings with the CRTC, RADIO MIRACADIE INC. has applied to the CRTC to add an FM transmitter at NEGUAC, NB to rebroadcast French-language Type A community FM station CKMA/MIRAMICHI, NB.  The NEGUAC transmitter would use 250 watts on 102.9 FM.

RADIO DEGELIS INC. has also applied for an additional transmitter for its French Hot AC CFVD (HORIZON FM)/DEGELIS, QC at RIVIERE-DU-LOUP, QC.  The additional station would use 5.750 watts at 102.5 FM.
