ABC Active Rocker WZZN (94.7 THE ZONE)/CHICAGO flipped formats at 12 noon (CT), and the station will now be known as "94.7 CHICAGO'S TRUE OLDIES STATION." The station will feature the biggest hits of the 50's, 60's, and 70's from artists like ELVIS PRESLEY, THE BEACH BOYS, and THE RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS, as well as MOTOWN greats.
Commented WZZN Pres. and GM JIM PASTOR, "What will separate 'TRUE OLDIES' from the traditional Oldies format is its deep playlist and current sound. A typical oldies stations will play the same 200 songs over and over again. At 94.7 TRUE OLDIES you'll never know what you'll be hearing next." 94.7 CHICAGO'S TRUE OLDIES will carry local pogramming with music, as well as news, weather, traffic and sports during the morning (5a-10a) and afternoon drive (3p-7p), in addition to a SATURDAY NIGHT OLDIES PARTY show. ABC RADIO NETWORK's "SCOTT SHANNON'S TRUE OLDIES CHANNEL" will fill out the balance of the schedule as well as launch the format flip.
At 94.7 True Oldies, you'll never know what you'll be hearing next.
