SAGUARO ROAD RECORDS artist MARK CHESNUTT has been added to the lineup for ProtectOurCoastline.org’s “Concert For The Coast,” hosted by headliner SAMMY KERSHAW. The concert is free and takes place this SUNDAY (7/18) at the COURTHOUSE SQUARE in HOUMA, LA at 3p (CT). LOUISIANA native WAYNE TOUPS will also perform.
ProtectOurCoastline.org is a non-profit organization that was created shortly after the oil spill in the GULF OF MEXICO began in the spring. All proceeds raised from the organization will aid and assist the fishermen, shrimpers and natural wildlife of the LOUISIANA coast.
CHESNUTT said: “This tragedy affects all of us, but it really hits close to home for me and SAMMY. I was humbled when SAMMY asked me to participate in the event; he’s an old friend and I am proud to support him and his involvement within this organization. Folks’ livelihood and ‘way of life’ has changed dramatically because of this mishap. The ‘Concert For The Coast’ will be a day full of fun and we hope to bring a little bit of ‘life’ back to the people of HOUMA, LOUISIANA!”
KERSHAW added: “I hope that this event continues to raise awareness and lets our fisherman and shrimpers know that they are not forgotten.”
