Kellar Radio Students Live It Up In Charlotte

Students selected for the KELLAR RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE are in CHARLOTTE TODAY (7/15)learning about sports broadcasting while visiting the CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY; BANK OF AMERICAN STADIUM, home of the CAROLINA PANTHERS; and TIME WARNER ARENA, home of the CHARLOTTE BOBCATS.
The INSTITUTE runs through WEDNESDAY, JULY 21st. Most sessions are held on the campus of APPALACHIAN STATE UNIVERSITY in BOONE, NC. TODAY, however, the students traveled to CHARLOTTE to learn from top sports broadcasting professionals: DOUG RICE of PERFORMANCE RACING NETWORK (PRN), MICK MIXON of the CAROLINA PANTHERS, SCOTT LAUER and MICHAEL THOMPSON of the CHARLOTTE BOBCATS and SAM SMITH of ESPN REGIONAL TELEVISION NETWORK and THE CAROLINA GOLF JOURNAL.
Following their session with PRN, the students have the opportunity to ride around CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY at 100 miles per hour in a pace car.
