Former Talk Host J.D. Hayworth Loses Ground In Arizona Senate Race

The latest polls appear to show Sen. JOHN MCCAIN (R-AZ) pulling away from his primary challenger, former CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFYI-A/PHOENIX afternoon host J.D. HAYWORTH.  The RASMUSSEN REPORTS poll released MONDAY gave MCCAIN a 54-34% lead, and other polls show MCCAIN with anywhere between an 11-point lead and a 45-point lead.

HAYWORTH mounted a challenge to MCCAIN based on a more conservative stance on issues like illegal immigration, and left KFYI to make the run.  In the RASMUSSEN poll, HAYWORTH's support has fallen from 42% in APRIL to 40% in MAY, and 36% in JUNE.

The primary will take place AUGUST 24th.
