PHOENIX MEDIA/COMMUNICATIONS GROUP Alternative WFNX/BOSTON has doubled its power and is now broadcasting from its new tower located on the top of ONE FINANCIAL CENTER in downtown BOSTON. The longtime Alternative station was previously broadcasting from MEDFORD at 3,000 watts prior to the FCC granting permission to broadcast from the new tower site.
PM/CG Chairman STEPHEN MINDICH commented, "After 23 years of bemoaning the fact that we couldn’t reach everyone in the BOSTON market who wanted to listen to WFNX and doing everything we thought we could do to increase our signal’s range, it took the special insight and knowledge of our current stations’ engineer, CHRIS HALL to make it happen."
WFNX GM ANDY KINGSTON added, "A huge number of WFNX’s listeners either work or live in or around the city of BOSTON. The number one complaint we get from these people is that they can’t receive our signal in their home or office. I am thrilled to finally have a solution for them. Hopefully the only complaint will come from their neighbors asking them to turn down the music!"
