NRG MEDIA Hot AC KQKQ (Q 98)/OMAHA, NE PD NEVIN DANE checks in with ALL ACCESS for an update straight from "Tornado Alley" where WOWT-TV (Channel 6) and the NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE confirmed that a small twister touched down in PAPILLION, NE on THURSDAY (3/30). The storm knocked out power to hundreds or residents, uprooted trees, and blew out the windows of several buildings in the area.
NRG stations KQKQ, KLTQ, KCTY, and KKAR-A, were all knocked off the air temporarily as their tranmitter equipment was struck by a lightning bolt at about 5p CT. After some dilligent work by cluster engineers, the fried components were repaired and the stations were up and running again by 5:30p.
