The war between TRIBUNE's BALTIMORE SUN and HEARST's Talk WBAL-A/BALTIMORE is over, with the parties agreeing to a news resource sharing deal.
The agreement makes SUN columnist DAN RODRICKS a regular co-host on WBAL with CHIP FRANKLIN starting in JUNE, SUN reporters have been cleared to appear on WBAL newscasts, the paper's business section will provide material for the radio station's early morning news show, and WBAL news audio will appear on the SUN's web site.
The SUN pulled all of its reporters and columnists (except for SUN sports columnist and WBAL weekender PETER SCHMUCK) from appearances on WBAL eight months ago in response to what it considered personal attacks by hosts RON SMITH and FRANKLIN; columnist GREGORY KANE ended his regular appearances on SMITH's show due to the ban.
