ALL ACCESS has confirmed that most airstaff at CLEAR CHANNEL Oldies WBIG (BIG 100.3)/WASHINGTON are out. Those out include morning show MURPHY & CASH, middayer STEPHANIE WELLS, afternooner TOM KELLY. Night stud JIM CURTIS will stay aboard in the cluster, and latenighter COUSIN VINNIE will assist with the transition to the "NEW BIG 100.3, THE GREATEST ROCK N' ROLL OF ALL TIME, at 5p today.
RVPP/WASHINGTON-BALTIMORE Trading Area JEFF KAPUGI told ALL ACCESS, "This is a natural evolution for the radio station attempting to make it accessible to more people. The format is evolving to a Classic Hits presentation, encompassing many of the current songs WBIG plays, with a different presentation.
"WBIG & WASH PD BILL HESS will concentrate on programming WASH as well as taking some additional duties with our AM facilities. I'll have details on that later. We'll begin our search for a new PD and airstaffers, too. My thanks to WWDC PD RICK SCHMIDT, Rock Brand Mgr. BRAD HARDIN, and BILL HESS for their help on this project."
