RAB: National Sales Up, Local Sales Down In February

According to the RAB, national radio revenue saw a 4% increase for the month of FEBRUARY 2006 compared to the same month from a year ago. Local dollars, however, dropped 3% this FEBRUARY compared to last FEBRUARY. Combined, national and local saw a 2% decline. There was good news in the form of non-spor revenue, which was up 12%. Grand total combined spot and non-spot dollars dropped 1% for the month of FEBRUARY 2006 compared to the same month from 2005.
On a year-to-date basis, radio revenue results for the first two months of 2006 were similar to the figures for the month of FEBRUARY. National dollars climbed 5% for the first two months of the year compared to those same two months in 2005. Local business dropped 2%, for a total combined local and national ad sales figures drop of 1%. Non-spot dollars were again the lead growth sector with an 11% increase. Combined, spot and non-spot revenues remained flat.
