Senate Commerce Committee To Consider Indecency Bills Soon

It won't be next week, reports BROADCASTING AND CABLE, but the Senate Commerce Committee plans to get around to a hearing on broadcast indecency "within the next several weeks." The hurricane aftermath and the need to get a digital TV bill completed by OCTOBER 19 will likely push the hearing until later in OCTOBER, but the committee still intends to discuss three indecency bills, with a fourth, the House bill that raises fines for indecency, already sent straight to the Senate leadership for a floor vote.
