Sports WQXI-A (790 THE ZONE)/ATLANTA is introducing a new show with veteran sportswriter and broadcaster TONY BARNHART and ATLANTA FALCONS voice WES DURHAM for 10a-1p. The show will launch FRIDAY (9/3), replacing BRANDON ADAMS, who recently announced his departure to return to school, and JEFF WOOLVERTON in the ZONE lineup. BARNHART and DURHAM have been hosting the weekly "SOUTHERN FOOTBALL KICKOFF SHOW" on the ZONE for five years.
"BARNHART and DURHAM will provide sports fans uncanny knowledge, tremendous depth into the college and pro football landscape and the most high-profile guests in sports radio," said VP/FM ANDREW SALTZMAN. "Finally, listeners get what they've wanted for a long time -- a daily show talking football with TONY and WES."
"ATLANTA is and always will be a premiere college football town and this show will prove that," said BARNHART. "WES and I have always wanted a daily show on football with the best guests, information and analysis in the country. It’s going to be fun."
"We have enjoyed the weekly show, but I'm thrilled to work with my friend TONY on a daily basis," said DURHAM. "We're greatly expanding a show that focuses on football and the biggest topics and issues in the game."
The station is licensed to LINCOLN FINANCIAL MEDIA, which recently announced that it is buying BIG LEAGUE BROADCASTING, the company that programs the ZONE format.
