FCC Activates Disaster Information Reporting System For Hurricane Earl

The FCC's Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau has activated its Disaster Information Reporting System (DIRS) in response to Hurricane EARL. The web-based system allows broadcasters and other communications companies to report communications infrastructure status and situational awareness information during emergencies.
The activation is for several counties in NORTH CAROLINA, including BEAUFORT, CAMDEN, CARTERET, CHOWAN, CRAVEN, CURRITUCK, DARE, HYDE, PAMLICO, PASQUOTANK, PERQUIMANS, TYRRELL, and WASHINGTON.
