CLEAR CHANNEL Country WSIX/NASHVILLE morning personality GERRY HOUSE has announced that the HOUSE FOUNDATION morning show will come to an end on DECEMBER 15th, 2010. HOUSE is hanging up his headphones after 30 years in Country radio, citing his desire to devote more time to other major writing projects he is involved in.
GERRY said: “I wanna sleep late, contemplate and feel great. I will miss everyone on and off the air, but it's time for me to do the other things I think about. The mostest fun ever is working with your friends. I also plan to travel and spend less time with my family.”
CC/NASHVILLE Market Manager TOM ENGLISH added: “Working with GERRY has been a highlight of my career. He and the rest of THE HOUSE FOUNDATION are absolutely the best and they have meant so much to our listeners, our station and our industry. Just saying GERRY HOUSE will be missed is the understatement of the decade, but I understand his desire to take time and enjoy the fruits of his success.”
Over the years GERRY HOUSE and THE HOUSE FOUNDATION have won every major award in Country radio including three CMAs, seven ACMs, eight Billboards, nine R&Rs and one Marconi. GERRY has also been recognized with the COUNTRY RADIO BROADCASTERS' "Personality of the Year" award and the LEADERSHIP MUSIC DALE FRANKLIN AWARD, as well as being a 2009 inductee into the COUNTRY MUSIC DJ AND RADIO HALL OF FAME. Additionally he has written two BMI "Million Play" songs and had over 40 cuts recorded.
GERRY will remain on-staff with WSIX as a contributor, writer and Consigliere. Those exiting as THE HOUSE FOUNDATION include co-host MIKE BOHAN, sidekick KATIE BRIGHT and producer RICHARD FALKLEN. Until DECEMBER 15th, the HOUSE FOUNDATION crew can be reached at mikebohan98@gmail.com, katie@wsix.com and richard@wsix.com.

WSIX PD KEITH KAUFMAN announced, “A worldwide search is now underway. We WILL find NASHVILLE’s next big thing. Anyone who can make me laugh within three minutes of turning on the radio every morning for the next 20 years can call my cell phone. If it'll take four minutes on some days, we'll take it. Those folks can contact me via e-mail at mornings@wsix.com.”
