ARISTA/NASHVILLE’s BROOKS & DUNN closed out their “Last Rodeo Tour” and their last show as a 20-year duo in NASHVILLE last night (9/2) at BRIDGESTONE ARENA.
Their two hour set included hits like “Neon Moon” (featuring a beautiful sunset backdrop) “How Long Gone” (a request from a cardboard sign in the audience), a powerful rendition of “Believe,” an acoustic version of KIX BROOKS singing “The Last Rodeo” and the rockin’ patriotic-themed “Only In America” (where members of the U.S. MARINE CORPS joined B&D on stage).
Although it seemed predictable that there would be a lot of star surprise appearances, the only special guest of the evening was STARSTRUCK/VALORY MUSIC CO. artist REBA McENTIRE, who came out to sing the last chorus of “Cowgirls Don’t Cry,” alongside KIX and RONNIE.
Confetti blasted from the corners of the arena as B&D performed their last song on stage together, “Brand New Man,” which was their first-ever hit single back in 1991. KIX BROOKS threw his signature black hat out to the crowd, shook hands with RONNIE and they made their exit toward stage left.
