Jay Blackburn Dead At 65

Condolences to the family and friends of JAY BLACKBURN, who passed away on FRIDAY (9/3) at the age of 65. BLACKBURN programmed many stations in the U.S. and internationally, including WLUP (THE LOOP)/CHICAGO, which he helped launch. THE LOOP became a legendary station for 30 years.

The veteran programmer also penned a novel, "The Radio Gypsies," published in 2008. It included much of his radio experiences in a thinly-veiled fictional story.

Funeral services are set for this morning (9/7) at the PORTER LORING MORTUARY NORTH in SAN ANTONIO, TX.
