SIRIUS XM RADIO sports talker CHRIS "MAD DOG" RUSSO has picked ARMADA MEDIA Talk KSDN-A/ABERDEEN, SD host and HUB CITY RADIO (ARMADA MEDIA)/ABERDEEN Sports Dir. JOSH BERTACCINI as the winner of his "So You Think You Can Talk Sports?" contest. BERTACCINI beat out fellow finalist PHOENIX MEDIA Alternative WFNX/BOSTON Production Dir. and former afternoon host "BIG JIM" MURRAY for the honor. Comedian JOE PISANO, restaurant worker LINDSAY SULLIVAN, and former 5280SPORTS.COM host NICK VELLA were previously eliminated from the competition.
BERTACCINI, a native of WEST ORANGE, NJ, will receive a week of on-air training with RUSSO followed by his own eight three-hour shows on the channel this FALL.
"JOSH really distinguished himself throughout this contest and we're excited to have him on the MAD DOG RADIO team this fall," said RUSSO. "He's got a national audience waiting for him and he'll be able to talk about anything and everything from the world of sports - NFL, college football, MLB, NBA, NHL, you name it."
"Growing up, sports radio was always my dream career," said BERTACCINI. "I've always wondered what it would be like if I ever got to do it nationally and, thanks to SIRIUS XM and MAD DOG RADIO, I'll finally get that chance. It'll be my first experience with a radio show on that level, talking sports with people all over the country. I truthfully couldn't be any more excited about the opportunity."
