MTV will debut "The Seven," a live, studio-based weekday daytime show targeting celebrities and pop culture beginning SEPT. 27th at 5p. According to the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, the half-hour show will be hosted by former EMMIS Alternative WKQX (Q101)/CHICAGO night host KEVIN MANNO and JULIE ALEXANDRIA, who currently hosts the EAST COAST-based cable show "METS Weekly."
"The Seven" will showcase seven stories covering HOLLYWOOD news, music, sex, fashion or other hot topics. Music performances and interviews also will be featured.
"It's been a big goal of mine to get us back into the live-series business," noted MTV Programming Pres. TONY DISANTO, who co-created "TRL" in 1998. "I wanted to get into day-and-date topical programming, and there's just something about having a live show during a time of day where everything else is pre-taped."
