CBS RADIO Sports WFAN-A/NEW YORK morning "BOOMER AND CARTON" co-host CRAIG CARTON is the subject of a profile in today's NEW YORK TIMES, marking the beginning of the show's simulcast on MSG NETWORK TODAY (9/13). The piece, by VINCENT M. MALLOZZI, follows how CARTON was picked by VP/Programming MARK CHERNOFF to join BOOMER ESIASON as the replacement show for DON IMUS at WFAN, and how the show has become a major ratings success.
"CRAIG knows how to run a radio show, he knows how to speak to an audience and how to push the hot buttons that get people to react," CHERNOFF told the TIMES.
"I always felt that this was the single greatest job in radio, and other than playing center field for the METS it's the greatest job in the world," said CARTON. "There's never a day that goes by where I don't look at myself in the mirror and say: 'Wow, I'm the morning guy on WFAN. It's a job I've wanted since I was a kid.'"
