FUN WITH RADIO Alternative WWCD (CD101)/COLUMBUS, OH announces the 18th Annual ANDYMAN-A-THON will be held DECEMBER 17-19th continuing the tradition of ANDY DAVIS, who passed away unexpectedly two months ago (NET NEWS 7/20). CD101 will continue ANDYMAN's tradition in his memory, but with a twist.
In the past, ANDY would stay awake, on-air for 48 hours straight to raise money for children’s charities in COLUMBUS. During this time, listeners are encouraged to call the studio to offer donations in return for song requests, as well as the opportunity to bid on special live and online auction items.
This year, no one specific DJ will be on-air for the entire time period, but the goal is still the same: to raise money and awareness for families and children’s charities in CENTRAL OHIO. In addition, a portion of proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to the ANDY DAVIS MEMORIAL FUND, benefitting ANDY’s three children. Last year's ANDYMAN-A-THON raised more than $42,000 for CD101 FOR THE KIDS -- CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL, THE CHILDHOOD LEAGUE, RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE, and HOMELESS FAMILIES FOUNDATION.
The ANDYMAN-A-THON provides a unique opportunity for the listeners of CD101 to give back to their community. It also gives a chance for individuals to bid on unique one-of-a-kind pieces of memorabilia. CD101 is asking for your help in securing autographed guitars, CDs and any other fun or unusual pieces of artist memorabilia.
Donations for the 18th Annual ANDYMAN-A-THON are being accepted through NOVEMBER 29th. Please send any items you would like to donate to: CD101 FOR THE KIDS, AMY DIEFENBACH 503 S Front St, Suite 101, COLUMBUS, OHIO 43215-5666. All donor names and companies will be recognized.
