A new comedy radio network is launching with what it calls the "first short-attention-span, fast-paced, hits-oriented, mass-appeal comedy radio format," 24/7 COMEDY RADIO. Created by the DONKEY COMEDY NETWORK and based on research studies by HARKER RESEARCH and VALLIE-RICHARDS-DONOVAN CONSULTING, the format includes an FCC-compliant playlist of rapid-fire comedy "hits" aimed at the 18-44 demographic.
"Comedy is a dominant force in every medium except terrestrial radio, and now it will be," said DONKEY COMEDY NETWORK Pres./Founder BILL BUNGEROTH. "24/7 COMEDY RADIO is the right product at the right time, especially for underperforming AM or FM radio stations looking for a big-cume format, and one that is unique in the market. Quite frankly, AMERICA is in need of a laugh and we plan to deliver it."
"Everybody loves to laugh," added founding partner DAN KEATING. "Local comedy clubs in markets across the country are experiencing a surge in attendance, and consumers have 24-hour access to comedy on various broadcast and digital platforms."
"There's never been a comedy format quite like this on radio," said founding partner and Operations Director GEORGE GIMARC. "We have a large library of short comedy bits, compelling comedic hosts, and fun promotions for a complete comedy radio experience."
"The active-listening, foreground format is an ideal environment for advertisers' messages," said Dir./Affiliate Sales DAVE VAN DYKE. "We have assembled an A-team of sales and promotional experts to develop ratings- and revenue-generating programs that can be implemented locally. 24/7 COMEDY RADIO's 18-44 demographic is a marketer's dream for delivering brand awareness and building loyalty for consumer products and retailers."
