VERNAL ENTERPRISES, INC. is selling Classic Hits WHPA (93.5 THE HEART)/GALLITZIN-ALTOONA, PA to FRANK IORIO, JR.'s RADIO PARTNERS, LLC for $610,000 plus a time brokerage agreement before closing. VERNAL owner LARRY SCHRECONGOST died in JUNE.
In other transactions filed with the FCC, LIVING WAY MINISTRIES, INC. is donating FM translator K220HC/SUN VALLEY, CA to LIFE ON THE WAY COMMUNICATIONS, INC.
GOFORTH MEDIA, INC. is selling FM translator W237BE/BREWTON, AL to DIVINE WORD COMMUNICATIONS for $19,000.
And APROVECHO RESEARCH CENTER is transferring the license for low-power FM KSOW-LP/COTTAGE GROVE, OR to REAL RURAL RADIO for no consideration.
CLEAR CHANNEL has filed for Special Temporary Authority to move FM translator K279AZ/COTTAGE GROVE, MN-MINNEAPOLIS from 103.7 FM to 103.5 FM with reduced power from 170 watts to 50 watts to alleviate interference; the station has been off the air for a few weeks while the company awaits FCC action.
And SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST BROADCASTING CORPORATION has applied for a Silent STA for low power FM WEHR-LP/PORT ST. LUCIE, FL, saying that "continued operation of the station at this time costs more than the licensee is able to afford under present economic conditions."
In CANADA, HALIBURTON BROADCASTING GROUP is buying three stations in two separate deals, reports CANADIAN PRESS. In one deal, HALIBURTON is buying Oldies CJCS-A and AC CHGK (107.7 MIX FM)/STRATFORD, ON from RAEDIO INC. In the other deal, HALIBURTON is buying Variety-Classic Hist CFSF (JOCO FM)/STURGEON FALLS, ON from JOCO COMMUNICATIONS. No price was disclosed for the deals.
