This year’s NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BLACK OWNED BROADCASTERS (NABOB) Conference was one of its best-attended conferences in years. This year’s theme was “Black Broadcasters – Still The Best Way to Influence Black America.” The event was held at the RITZ CARLTON HOTEL in WASHINGTON last THURSDAY and FRIDAY.
One of the highlights of the Conference was “THE POWER OF URBAN RADIO FORUM” luncheon keynote from ROB NORMAN, CEO of GROUP M of NORTH AMERICA. Another session highlight was entitled “What Is Pending Before The FCC, Congress and White House Of Concern To Broadcasters?” This panel, moderated by NABOB Exec. Dir./Gen. Counsel JIM WINSTON, featured several leading attorneys and high-ranking government officials discussing key issues, including the performance royalty legislatures currently being pushed in CONGRESS by the record industry.
