Who's Buying What

HENSLEY BROADCASTING is transferring Religion WWII-A (720 THE ROCK)/SHIREMANSTOWN-HARRISBURG, PA to WP PENNSYLVANIA, LLC for forgiveness of outstanding debt and an LMA before closing.  WP MEDIA LENDING, LLC lent $771,000 to the buyer in 2007 for the purchase.

Two groups of noncommercial stations headed by NANCY A. EPPERSON, THE RIVER EDUCATIONAL MEDIA, INC. and DELMARVA EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION, have filed a merger plan with the FCC.  THE RIVER's stations will be merged into DELMARVA as the surviving entity.  THE RIVER owns Christian AC simulcast WCRJ/JACKSONVILLE and WAYL/ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (88.1 THE PROMISE), Religion WTRJ-F (91.7 THE TRUTH)/ORANGE PARK-JACKSONVILLE, FL, and five FM translators.

ESTUARDO VALDEMAR RODRIGUEZ and LEONOR RODRIGUEZ have applied to the FCC for a Silent STA for WSRP/JACKSONVILLE, NC due to "financial conditions."

YOUR CHRISTIAN COMPANION NETWORK, INC. has asked the FCC for an extension of its silent STA for KYCT/RUIDOSO, NM.  The station went dark on DECEMBER 14th due to the collapse of its tower in snow, ice, and high winds.

BULLIE BROADCASTING CORP. has asked the Commission for an extension of its silent STA for WBAW-F/PEMBROKE, GA, saying that it expects to restore the station to the air in the next 30 days.

MILLER COMMUNICATIONS, INC. has asked the FCC for an extension of its silent STA for FM translator W247BN/SANTEE, SC.  The station went dark in JANUARY when power to the station's tower site was terminated because the owner of the location went into a long term medical care facility; the licensee has obtained permission to remain on the tower with restored power while it seeks a new site.

CRISTA BROADCASTING has closed on the purchase of Contemporary Christian KFMK (SPIRIT 105.9)/ROUND ROCK-AUSTIN, TX from CLEAR CHANNEL's ALOHA STATION TRUST for $6.25 million.

And HENRY G. LACKEY has closed on the sale of Oldies WSON-A/HENDERSON, KY to broker ED HENSON's HENSON MEDIA OF HENDERSON COUNTY, LLC for $400,000.
