The BROADCASTERS FOUNDATION OF AMERICA's 2010 Celebrity Golf Tournament in BRONXVILLE, NY last week raised over $150,000 for its fund to help broadcasters in need. The organization says that last month it granted the highest amount of financial aid to the largest number of broadcasters in one month than ever before.
Over 150 executives and celebrities attended the fundraiser, including LPGA players RYANN O'TOOLE and SUSAN CHOI; SPIN DOCTORS singer CHRIS BARRON; WCBS-TV/NEW YORK's MAURICE DUBOIS, CHRIS WRAGGE, DANA TYLER, and MAX GOMEZ; actress RACHAEL GRANT; WOR-A/NEW YORK host JOHN GAMBLING; ABC-TV's BILL EVANS; MIAMI DOLPHINS legend NICK BUONICONTI; and syndicated host LOU DOBBS.
"The tremendous efforts of this year's co-chairs, PAUL KARPOWICZ of MEREDITH BROADCASTING and TIM MCCARTHY of ESPN, helped us significantly increase the amount of money we raised from last year's Tournament," said President JIM THOMPSON. "These fundraisers, along with the support of individual broadcasters and the generosity of our sponsors, make it possible for the Foundation to continue its mission of helping broadcasters in need."
