COLUMBIA/NASHVILLE’s MIRANDA LAMBERT, who is a graduate of LINDALE HIGH SCHOOL, made a surprise visit to the LINDALE campuses YESTERDAY (9/22) to present several ‘thank you's' to the district. LAMBERT presented framed, autographed photos to each LINDALE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT campus. The gifts came in response to LISD's efforts in the "Nickels for NASHVILLE" campaign last SPRING.
In MAY, campuses in the LINDALE ISD joined to collect $3,613.13 during the campaign. The money was raised to support recovery efforts in NASHVILLE and MIDDLE TENNESSEE after floods devastated the area. Students, faculty and community members collected change for a little more than a week to reach the final amount.
LISD's donation was first presented as a surprise to LAMBERT during her "Cause for the Paws" concert event in last MAY, which supports pet adoption. The money raised by LISD was donated to the NASHVILLE HUMANE ASSOCIATION (NHA). The NHA experienced severe overcrowding due to the large number of animals displaced by the floods.
