Radio-Ready Cell Phone Showcase Set For NAB

One of the highlights of the imminent NAB convention will be the RADIO-READY CELL PHONE SHOWCASE. The exhibit will showcase radio’s emergency alerting capabilities, including ALERT FM -- the FM-based RBDS alert messaging system from Global Security Systems (GSS) -- to demonstrate the power of radio to keep citizens informed in times of crisis.

The data-based message alerting from ALERT FM expands the Emergency Alert System (EAS) for radio broadcasters, and the additional FM-delivery pathway enhances the benefit to public safety in an emergency.

The ALERT FM technology also will be demonstrated at the FEMA Integrated Public Alert and Warning (IPAWS) booth number 28.
