It's a diverse group that's been nominated for induction into THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME for 2011. The CLEVELAND-based Hall proposed 15 acts for this year's induction ceremony.
ALICE COOPER, THE BEASTIE BOYS, BON JOVI, NEIL DIAMOND, CHIC, DONOVAN, DR JOHN, J GEILS BAND, LL COOL J, DARLENE LOVE, LAURA NYRO, DONNA SUMMER, JOE TEX, TOM WAITS and CHUCK WILLIS made the list this year.
Ballots will now go out to 500 "music industry professionals" who will sort through the list ahead of DECEMBER's official induction announcement. Artists who receive more than 50% of the vote will be ushered into the Hall at a ceremony on MARCH 14th, 2011.
"We believe our nominating committee has put forth a list of artists that truly represents the wide variety of music that defines rock and roll," Hall Of Fame Pres. JOEL PERESMAN said in a statement.
The 2010 inductees included ABBA, GENESIS and THE HOLLIES.
