Fifty-two-year radio veteran and multiple Hall of Fame morning personality Dr. BRUCE NELSON STRATTON of QUALITY BROADCASTING Country KTFX/CORPUS CHRISTI has announced his last morning show will be DECEMBER 31st, and he will retire as GM of KFTX.
Dr. BRUCE has been on the air in mornings for 15 years. He cites his desire to sleep in, write a book about his radio career, read some more books, spend time with his wife SANDI and “do what I want to do when I want to do it,” as reasons why he is hanging up his headphones.
STRATTON said: “It’s time to enjoy the rewards of a long career.” He will continue to handle some advertising accounts for KFTX and possibly retain a few other duties as his retirement allows.
KFTX Sales Manager CYNDI ROWDEN will be promoted to GM, and longtime afternoon personality and PD CHUCK ABEL will move to the morning show. CHUCK tells ALL ACCESS that there are no plans to announce an afternoon replacement at this time, as that decision has yet to be determined.
