Actor/comedian ROBERT WUHL is launching a daily sports talk show for WESTWOOD ONE in JANUARY. WUHL, best known as sports agent "ARLI$$" on the HBO sitcom of the same name, will be heard live from CULVER CITY, CA weekdays 3-6p (ET).
"This marks the first step in WESTWOOD ONE’s renewed focus on original programming for radio," said WESTWOOD ONE Founder NORMAN PATTIZ. "ROBERT WUHL’s unique talent, humor and passion for sports, plus a digital rolodex that includes every sports figure and fan on the planet, will make The ROBERT WUHL Show an experience like no other. Big time fun is coming to Sports Talk."
"This opportunity combines all of my passions from sports, entertainment, media and interviews," said WUHL, also known for his roles in films like "BULL DURHAM," "BATMAN," "COBB," "GOOD MORNING VIETNAM" and "THE HOLLYWOOD KNIGHTS." "I come at this from a completely different perspective because, as far as I know, I am the only host in the history of sports talk radio that doesn't vote for the HEISMAN TROPHY, but does vote for the ACADEMY AWARD."
"Besides being one of the funniest comedians and writers in HOLLYWOOD, WUHL is a gifted communicator and virtual sports encyclopedia," said WESTWOOD ONE SVP/News & Talk Programming BART TESSLER. "His amazing wit and uncanny ability to connect with an audience makes WUHL perfect for radio."
